BAPTISM
An Outward Sign of an Inward Decision
Salvation does not come from baptism. However, we do believe it is an important act of obedience. While salvation is intensely personal, it is not private. Your first "witness" to others of your salvation experience is baptism. Our practice is to do that by immersion. Usually it's scheduled when most family & friends can attend.
CHURCH MEMBERSHIP
We are thankful you are interested in knowing more about Old River Baptist Church. As Christ-followers, church membership and participation are very important. We believe that! ORBC is a community of believers who make a covenant to each other and desire to walk together through life’s ups and downs. Becoming a member of any church is a very important decision.
Everyone desiring to join ORBC or are interested in learning about ORBC are invited
to attend the new members class.
The new member class is two class session which take place during the Sunday morning Bible study hour. The class covers the gospel, our church’s beliefs, leadership, bylaws, and covenant. During the class, each attender will be asked to share their salvation story with a class leader and will have the opportunity to join the church.
The class is designed for ages 13+. Parents may choose to bring younger children but the class covers some topics too mature for children.
